Factice Display Guerlain Shalimar Eau de Cologne - 1960 - Rare Gigantic Size coloured glass Item Description:Very Rare Gigantic Factice Display Guerlain Shalimar Eau de Cologne. An oversized perfume bottle made by the manufacturer to be used for display and advertising purposes. c1960. It would be a fabulous addition to a perfume bottle collection. Bottle is 10 Tall x 7.5 Wide x 2" Deep. Base measures 2 & 5/8 lengthwise. It is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. Back in the day, these giant bottles were displayed in department stores and high end pharmacies where perfumes were sold. They were not filled with perfume. They would have been filled with water to look like perfume or cologne. Label on front is in very good condition: It says: "Shalimar" on the orange circle and "Eau de Cologne Guerlain" on the white portion encircling the orange circle . The medallion hanging on the string is in PERFECT condition. Coloured glass is extremely rare and almost impossible to find. The stopper is a beautiful one in heavy glass with the base that inserts into the bottle being ground glass. It is similar to a heavy glass liquor decantor. Extremely high quality and beautifully made. It is a gorgeous factice of the real Guerlain Shalimar cologne bottles. This one is a true work of art that speaks of the luxury of the House of Guerlain
