GT Team Edition Tate Roskelley - 80s BMX Style - 21" TT Size L

Description: This is a custom rebuilt Tate Roskelley Team Edition full CrMo GT Freestyle BMX complete. I have replaced some of the stock components with brand new aftermarket parts including the wheelset, brakes, and sprocket to give it a more 80s inspired vintage freestyle bmx aesthetic. GT has been a staple of the BMX community since it's inception and their partenrship with skyway in the 80s produced some of the most iconic freestyle BMX builds of all time. The bike comes from the factory with a skyway front wheel in black, but I decided that it wasn't enough so I replaced both wheels with a brand new set of modern Skyway Tuff II's with integrated 9t cassette driver in an icy white color wrapped in matching white Kenda K50 knobby tires. The factory brakes were great, but would get tangled after a barspin, so I installed an odyssey gyro setup to odyssey springfield to enable infinite barspins with matchy white cable housing that also leans into the vintage style. I tried to install a front brake with a 990 adapter plate but I couldn't make it work. I think a great upgrade path for this build would be installing an Odyssey F25 or even a zero-offset Odyssey fork with integrated posts to install front brakes for ultimate vintage flair. The top cap was replaced with a threaded cap drilled for brakes so there will be no custom machining required if you decide to pursue that path, I just didn't want to spend too much more on a hobby build I don't intend to ride since I have other bikes I'm riding. All that said this bike is incredibly capable. GT really outdid themselves with this release as it has a full chromoly frame, bars, 48 spline crankset, and fork with a modern one-piece steer tube. The crankset is the highest-end GT freestyle cranks available on the market and I've upgraded them further with their top-of-the-line CrMo guard sprocket in 25t gearing. This bike is ready for whatever you want to throw at it, be it grinds, transition riding, or even just to cruise around the neighborhood popping wheelies with style.
