Description: Griswold Inn, Essex, Connecticut, Set Of Two Postcards. Exterior Views. One postcard features wagon covered in snow, parked in front of the Inn. Postcard was published by Pelland advertising associates of Springfield, Massachusetts. The “Gris”, as noted on the postcard was built in 1776. It has been in continuous operation since then. Second postcard features the sign, “Griswold Inn 1776, find food, spirits, lodging” this image is a color production by G Allan Brown who did several of these photos in the late 1970s.
