Description: Offered is the nicest Panasonic RS-802US 8 Track tape player on eBay. It’s in perfect working condition because it was just serviced, please read full description as what was done. As for cosmetics, please view all the close-up pictures. The size of the unit is 8-1/4" wide, 4-1/4" tall and 9-3/4" deep. The unit weighs 7 pounds. It's very easy to set-up and use, comes with standard RCA connection cables. The sound is nice and clear, please view the video below of the actual unit being offered in use. You have to realize these units are now 45+ years old and time is not kind on lube/grease (dries out), rubber belts (loses elasticity or turns to a gooey mess) and controls/switches (stiff and/or dirty) that haven’t moved in decades. Even a NOS (New Old Stock) player that is sealed in the box and never used will more than likely need to be serviced to work properly. I want to make sure you get a good functioning unit and it will stay that way for some time. You want to be sure it was serviced by someone with knowledge about these old players and not someone just trying to get it barely working to sell it. It’s just too easy for anyone to claim the work has been done without showing any proof. I always include numinous pictures of that process and a quick video of the actual unit playing. It takes time to do things correctly as well as having the correct tools/supplies (see picture in listing). Servicing Done: 1. Installation of a new drive belt.2. Cleaning of old lube and application of fresh lube on all moving parts.3. Cleaning, alignment, and demagnetization of the head for optimal playback.4. Cleaning of the cabinet and faceplate.5. Inspection of the power cord and replacement if necessary.6. Cleaning of the capstan drive and application of fresh lube on bearings.7. Checking and cleaning of the program advance switch.8. Verification of the illuminated program indicator lights.9. Checking and cleaning of RCA line-out cables. All units are packed with great care for shipment.
