Description: Offered here is the book GREAT THEMES FROM THE OLD TESTAMENT by Norbert Lowfink, S.J. It was published in 1982 by T. & T. Clark Ltd. of Edinburgh and printed in the United States. The book originally appeared in German in 1977 and then translated into English by the Rev. Ronald Walls. This is a scholarly work and showcases the research and thought that gave birth to it. Though not always easy reading, it is certainly worth reading. Previous to writing this book, the author lectured at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. In deference to those unfamiliar with the Hebrew language, the writer and/or translator made it a practice to not use Hebrew script and to translate any Hebrew words he references (see example in last photo). The book is itself is in very good condition--complete and intact, with no missing or torn pages, and with no hand-writing or signature, but the dust jacket shows wear along the edges. I purchased this pre-owned to include in my ownbrary. Now, however, I've reached 80 and my wife is not far behind, so we are down-sizing. Much of the library has been given to family and friends with some books now being offered on ebay.
