Description: GREAT BRITAIN 1851 Prince Albert / Great Exhibition 38mm Silver Medal 26.17 grams (BHM 2459, Eimer 1463, Allen HP-B340) Obverse: bare head of Prince Albert, H.R.H. PRINCE ALBERT / STRUCK IN THE BUILDING OF THE EXHIBITION / W. J. TAYLOR MEDALLIST / LONDON Reverse: Royal Arms, GREAT EXHIBITION OF THE INDUSTRY OF ALL NATIONS + LONDON 1851 + Edge: plain Should be considered extremely rare. Leslie Lewis Allen did not list the piece in silver in his book, The World's Show - Coincraft's Catalogue of Crystal Palace Medals and Tokens 1851-1936, only mentioned in copper and white metal, possibly as he had not seen one. When his extensive collection was offered by Baldwin's only the copper and white metal examples were offered and the catalogue referenced the copper medal as being extremely rare (lot 39). It is listed in silver in BHM and Eimer. Inv5575 PLEASE NOTE: that applicable taxes are collected by eBay, and that we ship only to Canada, United States, Great Britain, France and Germany.
