Description: This is your chance to own a Plastic Jesus (a.k.a."The Banksy of L.A.") piece of installation street art, which is super rare! The piece, "Drains to Ocean", shows a “Jaws” like shark, preparing to strike an unsuspecting woman who is leisurely swimming above. This piece of installation street art, was pasted under the Hollywood Sign on the iconic Beachwood Drive in Hollywood, California in 2013. I read it as a comment on the Hollywood system…It is signed “PJ” in black marker in the right hand corner. This installation was pasted over a “traditional” storm drain stenciling of “No Dumping, Drains to Ocean”, which are ground stencils that are posted near storm drains around the city of Los Angeles.*Plastic Jesus tries to work as ethically as possible and minimize harm to the environment. His street art is only left in place for a limited time and then removed.*I came across this piece while walking my dog. The corner was lifted, and it was still wet from being pasted. It appears to be stencil on heavy paper, with the “PJ” signature in black marker. It measures 12 & 3/4ths inches wide by 11 & 7/8ths inches height. As this was an installation street piece, there are some imperfections. The upper left hand corner has a crease. There is a small hole in the paper, near the mid bottom right hand corner, over the “N” in the word Ocean. There is an overall gravel like texture to it from being pasted on the cement. This all adds to the "street art" significant reality of the piece. Please see photos. Comes unframed. Feel free to email me with any questions.
