This unit has been configured and flashed with the HxC firmware to be fully compatible with the sampler, no fancy button pressing and loading routine anymore. A pen drive can be removed and recognized without needing to reboot the sampler, disk images can be changed/loaded on the fly with the up and down button, and the sampler can boot from a virtual drive image as well, as long as the OS disk image is present on the root of the USB stick NEW: This unit has been upgraded with OLED DISPLAY to be able to see file name. This drive has been tested on a Roland S-750, S760, S-770, DJ-70, W-30, S-330 and S-550 sampler, replacing the floppy drive and providing the same exact functionality as the original with the convenience of 1000 floppy disk capacity and the reliability of solid state memory. At the moment we don't have a way to test with other models but thanks to the HxC firmware, there is a big chance that is compatible with the other samplers from the Roland family as well. It recognizes images from the 720 KB (DD) library floppies (S-50/S-330/S-550/W-30) as well as the 1.44 MB disks (S-750/S-760/S-770/DJ-70). If you are interested, I can give you access to my collection of Sample Library for this sampler with more than 1000 floppy images with everything from the original factory library that Roland put out on floppy disks, to the hard to find Universe of Sounds series and Club50 Roland library.
