Description: LIVING ESTATE SALE (Details at the end of description) For your consideration is a Weeden 34 Live Steam Engine Made in the USA in the 1910s. From the Weeden Site :The Weeden No. 34 is a large engine, 10" high and 8" long with a 4 1/4" diameter balance wheel. The boiler is brass enclosed in a blued steel jacket with star, snowflake or round hole cut-outs. Engine frame and balance wheel are nickel plated iron. Introduced in 1896 and produced until 1940. Later models, sometime around 1920, could be reversed by flipping the flywheel in the opposite direction. This is a genuine antique in that looks fantastic. At the current state, it is for display only : too many air leaks. If you would like to attempt running it on air or steam, you will have to go around and change all the dried up gaskets. All the parts are original. It has been cleaned up but not restored to functionality. Condition : This is a beautiful and large antique live steam engine. This is mostly for display : several air leaks at the present point. It is a beautiful and rare piece that is over 100 years old. All original parts. I would rate it a C5. If I know something is wrong, I will disclose it but I certainly can make an honest mistake and will do my very best to correct it. Warning : Many of these older collectibles are not in compliance with today's safety standards. It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine whether or not they are still suitable for their intended purpose. Adult supervision is indispensable with any steam engine. Packaging :Items are packed carefully and should remain undamaged through a standard level of care during handling. LIVING ESTATE SALE DETAILS :I had my first steam engine when I was 9 years old. That was 65 years ago. I have been collecting them for 25 years and I am now 74. None of my descendants is interested in the collection, so I decided that it was time to liquidate. As of October 2024, I still have over 1,300 engines of all kinds to list. I believe in full disclosure. It takes me about an hour to list one item, between the assessment, the testing, the video, the photos, the description and the very careful packaging. I try to have very reasonable prices. At comparable quality, my prices are probably the lowest on the market.SV/AI
