Description: Featured in this auction is a small, antique duck flower frog made by the Brush-McCoy Pottery Co. This sweet little duck is unmarked but is identified in the reference guide called Flower Frogs for Collectors by Bonnie Bull as having been made by Brush-McCoy, shape #062, circa 1915. This arts-and-crafts design features a molded then handworked duck to serve as a flower frog. The body is solid with 6 stemholes that go through to the bottom. Details have been carved into the duck, and extraneous, glazed-over indentations are visible on the piece (as made). This gorgeous drip glaze is a high-gloss Majolica in green, cream and yellow. This piece is in excellent condition with glaze drips onto the base, tiny firing hairlines on the base, along with tiny clay tags and glaze pops. There are no chips, no other cracks, overall crazing and no repairs. This duck is 2" tall, 4" long and 2-1/2" wide. Check out all 12 photos! This beautiful little piece would be perfect for any American art pottery or Brush-McCoy Pottery collector. Check out my other pottery listings!
