Description: For sale is an English Victorian sterling sugar sifter ladle by Charles Boyton, London, 1847-48. The piece is 6 1/2 inches long and weighs 55 grams. It has a 2 ¼ inch wide oval bowl with a flat pierced bottom, a swaged rounded drop, flared shoulders and downturned rounded fiddle handle. It is monogrammed “AEW” on the handle front. It is marked with the [C.B] maker’s mark, a small journeyman’s mark and full London hallmarks for 1847-48. Condition on the piece is good. There is just normal wear from use. A fine old serving piece by a good maker!
