The body has a maple top and mahogany back, and the wood materials are classic Les Paul Custom, with a mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard.Ebony fingerboards are now rare. It's no wonder that the rich sound that is typical of the higher-end Les Paul series has gained so many fans. The pickups have been replaced with old Seymour Duncan 59N&59B, and the sticker has a "J" stamp indicating that it was made by Maricela Juarez. It shows signs of use appropriate to its age, but scratches, peeling, and weather checking contribute to the overall dignified style.The back of the neck has been fully refinished or overcoated. Normally one would suspect that this was a repair for a broken neck, but as there were no signs of repair, we assume it was just to smooth out the worn-out underside. About 60-70% of the frets remain, and the neck is in good condition and can be played comfortably. A rare custom ebony fretboard.
