Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE For sale is one 1991 Gibson ES-165 Herb Ellis Signature Model Guitar with its original Gibson hard shell case. This guitar is in very good condition. It is all-original with no modifications or upgrades. There is some nice flaming in the maple of the top and back. It has a few scratches and a bit of finish checking on the top. There is a bit of clouding in the finish at the heel of the neck. The original frets have a few small dimples, but have lots of life in them. It does not buzz anywhere on the fretboard. The truss rod functions as it should. The serial number is 92721456. The guitar currently has Schaller strap locks installed and it comes with the Schaller strap attachments plus the original Gibson strap buttons. The guitar plays very well, has tone to die for, and is currently set up for 12-52 flat-wound strings. The original Gibson hardshell case has a few dings and tears, but is very functional and protects the guitar very well. All the latches work, the handle is solid, and the door to the case compartment has no issues. Please see the photos for further details about the condition of the case. I have never gigged with this guitar. It comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. In case you’re wondering, the only reason I’m selling this guitar is due to a hand injury that makes this body style difficult to play. Otherwise, I’d be keeping this beautiful, old jazz box.
