Gibson developed the J-35 in response to the social conditions of the time, with the concept of providing musicians with the warmest, best tone while eliminating decorations and simplifying specifications. Thermal Aged Adirondack Red Spruce Top The spruce has been aged using heat and pressure to give it an aged appearance, and has been successful in producing a tone similar to a vintage guitar.
