Description: I used these two instruments in my Accredited AGS Gem Lab as a Certified Gemologist Appraiser. I have since retired. On the back of the refractometer there is a small, frosted glass piece cemented in place to disperse light and keep dust out. I noticed it had cracked. I repaired it and cemented it back in the instrument. Everything works fine. The table of the hemi-cylinder is in good condition and readings through the eye piece are very clear. I noted that GIA Gem Instruments currently sells these two items for $1400.00. Refractive index fluid and the polarizing filter for the eye piece can be purchased from GIA Gem Instruments under Accessories on their web site.. I will sell only in the lower 48 states.
