Description: This is a vintage GERSON CO. Large MELON KNIFE that is in very good condition and is 5.5" long closed and has a 4.75" long SERRATED SPEARPOINT blade made of STAINLESS STEEL. It has a NICKEL SILVER BOLSTER and a BRASS LINER and PINS. This is a VERY RARE knife that has a few marks but doesn't have any ADVERTISING on the Cream-colored handles. Normally they would be imprinted with some farm or produce company's name. It has not been cleaned by me and is in as-found condition. Please see the pictures and note the tiny cracks by the middle pin. The tang is stamped GERSON CO. over MIDDLEBORO over MASS 02346 on one side, and WARRANTED over STAINLESS over FRANCE on the inverse side. This one was made for Gerson in FRANCE between 1965 and 1970.
