Description: Germany: Wound Badge 1914-1918, marked 'D.R.G.M.' (Deutches Reich Gebrauchs Muster) on reverse. The Wound Badge was established on March 3rd 1918 Emperor Wilhelm II to recognize those wounded during WWI. The badge was instituted in three classes: black for one or two wounds a silvered badge for three or four wounds; and a gold-gilt badge for five or more wounds, or loss of a limb or sight. The badge is die struck steel, with black paint wash. The badge is in better than very fine condition, with most paint lost on the helmet.
