Description: A small beautifully crafted round silver patch box hallmarked in Birmingham in 1800 carrying the makers mark for John Thornton, a well known maker of Georgian patch boxes. It has a lined or reeded pattern on both top and bottom parts of the box. Pushes shut. It opens and closes cleanly. Good solid original and genuine patch box of the correct size. Weight of 5 Grams approx2.2 cm approx Condition: In good antique condition commensurate with age and normal usage. Normal surface marks. Some light tarnishing to interior. Marked on edge of base in fair condition. Mark to lid also on edge - rubbed. Please see photographs which form an integral part of the description.
