Produced on thick 300 gsm silk art paper this Limited Edition Print is suitable for framing with or without a mount and will be supplied inside a sturdy cardboard postal tube.George Harrison’s Gibson Les Paul LucyPreviously owned by John Sebastian, Rick Derringer and Eric Clapton, Lucy landed in George’s hands in August 1968 when Eric Clapton gifted him his cherry red 1957 Les Paul Standard. Naming his new Les Paul Lucy after red-headed comedienne Lucille Ball, George was soon playing her in The Beatles’ promo for the single Revolution. In September 68 Lucy was used for one of The Beatles’ most famous solos on While My Guitar Gently Weeps when George asked Eric Clapton to play her for the lead guitar part. Used almost exclusively throughout the final studio sessions for The White Album and the Get Back/Let It Be recordings in January 1969, Lucy was then played extensively on recordings for the Abbey Road album. Stolen in 1973 from George’s Beverly Hills home Lucy was eventually returned following some complicated negotiations involving a third party and a trip to Mexico.
