GEORGE BELL played 13 seasons in Major League Baseball after being born and raised in tiny San Pedro de Macoris, the Baseball Capital of the Dominican Republic. George, sometimes spelled JORGE, hit .278 with 265 Home Runs and 1,002 Runs batted in during his active career. He played for the clubs, the Toronto Blue Jays for 9 seasons and the Chicago White Sox and Cubs after that. He was a 3 time All-Star, 3 time Silver Slugger Winner, the 1987 RBI leader and the American League Most Valuable Player of 1987. George is honored as a member of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame for his contributions and excellence as a Blue Jay. Although he never played on a World Championship club, George performed well in his playoff appearances and with high base on ball and slugging percentages as well, was always a feared opponent. Popular with Chicago and Toronto Fans, George had a younger brother Juan Bell who also played in the MLB. This lot of cards was created from boxes of these sets which I opened and sorted, they were obtained by me as part of a huge collection of over 160,000 Baseball cards.
