These sight covers were re-packaged after WWII by San Antonio Arsenal for future use. The covers were dipped in a dark brown preservative and wrapped in the usual heavy green wax paper. See the last photo for an example. From two opened packages, we found fourteen Remington covers and are selling them here individually. Note that we are selling some of the unopened packages of ten in separate listing, if you'd like more than a single sight cover. You will receive one of the covers shown in these photos. A few have a bright blue finish and most have a matte black phosphate-type finish, perhaps Parkerized. They have a large or small "R" on the right side, as shown in the fourth photo. All the covers appear little used or unused. There's no rust or problems. Obviously the arsenal discarded any that weren't suitable for future use. The last two photos show how SAA preserved and packaged these. We removed most of the preservative by warming the covers and wiping them off. Thus you will still find some residual preservative on the pieces as seen in some of the photos, along with fibers from the cloth. Shipping is $4.45 for any number of followers.
