It's made of rubber, and there's a small tear on top of where the left arm attaches as shown. The left arm is sort of hanging behind him, the tear doesn't appear significant enough to be causing this, I'm thinking it's just due to the way it was stored that formed it in this position and possibly caused the small tear due to stress on the arm as well.
