Lovely, gem, sky blue Aquamarine single crystal from the Erongo Mountains, Namibia. This is a very nice single with good clarity and good color with only minor edge rubbing locally. The form is different from recent production in that there are small, pyramidal faces around the termination along with the typical pinacoid. This is an old piece dating back from finds of more than 30 years ago when this style of Aquamarine was found. Unfortunately, local miners at the time were looking for quick money so when they encountered these pockets they just broke the crystals off at the matrix rather than trying to recover matrix pieces so there were a bunch of these little singles offered at that time.
