Description: For auction is an early work of G. K. Chesterton's, his Biography (more of an appreciation of) poet Robert Browning. While the work is an early edition printed in 1904, it is the signatures laid in that set this apart. Both signatures are cuttings from letters-- G.K. Chesterton's recognizable autograph is the smaller of the two "G. K. Chesterton" and a few cut off words His wife, Frances Blogg Chesterton's signature is obviously from the end of a letter, as she writes "V. sincerely, Frances Chesterton" The signatures were acquored separately and laid in to this early work. The work Robert Browning is in blue cloth boards, and has some rubbing to the spine and bumping to the corners. Internally it is tight though the front board hinge shows some webbing if examined. See pictures for details. I collect Chesterton and have a few other pieces listed if he is of interest to you. I encourage you to take a look at some of my other listings.
