Description: FRENCH ORMOLU TRINKET BOX A very pretty gilt bronze trinket box with a beautiful central miniature painting of a lady. The box is stunningly detailed with an elaborate stiff-leaf design all round the perimeter of the body. The top has twin foliate features either side of the cameo portrait with a petal roundel at the top and bottom. The hinged lid reveals the original velvet lining. The base has modern replacement felt. Date: 19th Century. Condition: good original condition. The hinge works well, the lid shuts nicely. The lining is original. Some minor tarnish spots.
