Description: French Empire style picture frame. It has typical French Empire decorative devices incorporated in its design : wreaths, ribbons, floral, as well as engraved designs around the perimeter. The frame has a hinged top to allow for easy access to the display area. On the back, there is an easel for the tabletop and a ring for hanging. In good condition for its age. I suppose it could be polished, but otherwise, it's good. I measured the cardboard for going behind the picture, and it is just about 5.25 inches by just a hair less than 4 inches. This frame is in need of glass. James McCreery was a NY Dry goods store that catered to the upper middle classes and part of the Ladies Mile. By 1940, real estate became more valuable than retail, and they were no longer the major dry goods purveyor in NYC. Please refer to the photos as they are part of the description. If you have any questions please write and I will answer as soon as I can. Thank you for visiting my listing!
