Description: 56cm center to top tube frame, Columbus tubing. Bought this one as a covid project. originally all chrome and original owner raced it around Dunedin Fl in the early 60's (so his daughter said). the chrome was not save-able so had it powder coated chroma chrome at Groody bros with translucent red accents. clear coated over decals. red lug lining. some parts are original but had to replace one rim (that had cracks around a few spoke holes), in addition to the seat post & saddle and stem. very nice campy gran sport RD, campy low flange hubs, nisi tubular rims, vittoria corsa control 28mm tubs (not glued on), universal mod 68 rear caliper, universal CX front, fresus branded pedals and cranks, magistroni chainring and BB, regina 5 speed freewheel. ambrisio period correct stem, phillipe polished franco italia handlebars, ballila original brake levers, campy 2 post seat post and vintage brooks pro saddle with copper rivets. losing storage (and my knees!), so this one must go. local pickup preferred. Frejus of Torino was founded by Emmo Gelfi in 1896, the same year that Maino and Umberto Dei were founded, two other historic Italian marques, and a decade before the Legnano brand was established. The Gelfi brothers continued to build Frejus bicycles until 1946 when it was purchased by Emilio Bozzi S.p.A. adding the Frejus brand to their Legnano and Wolsit marques. Frejus had a great history of victories on both the road and track having won 11 world championships by the end of the 1950’s. The list of champion riders included such names as Guiseppe Olmo, Cino Cinelli and even Gino Bartali
