Description: These two postcards picture buildings constructed in the late 1890s in the Richardsonian Romanesque architectural style that was popular in the late 1800s. Both have distinctive turrets. The postcards are:City Hall with a horse-drawn wagon in front.This sandstone building served as the Fort Wayne City Hall from 1893-1971. It now houses the Allen County-Fort Wayne Historical Society. It was listed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1973.The postcard was published by the American News Company, N.Y., and printed in Germany by Litho-Chrome continuous tone lithography. Old Post Office and Federal BuildingThis building was completed in 1889. A new Federal building replaced the functions at this building in 1932 and in 1938, the wonderful old build was raised and is now a parking lot.The postcard was published by the S. H. Knox & Company and printed in Germany. Cards ships USPS standard first class, sleeved and in a stiff cardboard mailer.
