A real performer has to hug the road, with precise steering and minimal body roll when pushed in the turns. Unfortunately, when you bolt on some big sticky meats and start putting a lot more power to the drive wheels, the average stock chassis and suspension will start flexing, rolling and bouncing; resulting in a vehicle that generally doesn’t go where it’s pointed. Spec-D has the parts that will keep your wheels planted, for maximum traction on the straights and the turns, and give you that flush stance that separates the players from the posers. Spec-D lowering springs will give you the reduced ride height that will lose the gap between the fenders and the tires and a lower center of gravity for less body roll in the turns and a more ground hugging, aerodynamic presence on the road. Spec-D coilovers will do the same but also give you the adjustability to tailor your ride height. Most stock suspension parts are designed for a stock every day driver and can only be adjusted within a certain range. Lower your vehicle and you may not be able to adjust the suspension geometry to avoid tire wear or ward off evil handling like bump steer. Spec-D adjustable control arms and camber, caster and toe kits provide a wide range of adjustment so you can align your vehicle to prevent tire wear and tailor the suspension and steering to your driving needs. Chassis flex is a common byproduct that comes with adding power and tire size. During hard cornering all the suspension load is transferred to the top of the strut towers, causing them to flex in relation to the rest of the body and allow the wheels to lose traction. Tying the strut towers and other flex points together distributes the load more evenly and keeps the wheels in position, to maintain tire traction and steering response.
