He married Red Crane and later married a second wife, Gettign Around at the Rosebud Reservation. Fool Bull had two sons: Richard Fool Bull, born in 1877 and John Fool Bull, born in 1889. Fool Bull was present and fought at the Battle of the Little Bighorn. He rode into battle with War Chief Buffalo Horse with Hollow Horn Bear in the lead.
