Description: FLUORITE CRYSTALS on QUARTZ - 5.4 cm - HOMESTAKE MINE, ARIZONA 23379 FLUORITE CRYSTALS on QUARTZ - 5.4 cm - HOMESTAKE MINE, ARIZONA These fluorite specimens from Mohave County are some of the best of the species from Arizona. They are unique in several ways. Most are a pale sea green found in masses of crystalline quartz. The fluorite’s structure is interesting. They have a cubic microstructure and create octahedrons with stepped faces that at first glance look etched. The subtle color contrast of these specimens makes their photography difficult. The large miniature that we offer is a very good example with these classic characteristics. It has more than a dozen undamaged octahedrons of fluorite with the largest crystal measuring 12 mm on edge.
