Backed by a great band featuring Airto, Ron Carter, George Duke, Alphonso Johnson, Ndugu (Leon Chancler), Roberto Silva, David Amaro, Hermeto Pascoal and more. On the Orange Milestone labels and in the Original Gatefold Cover with no Barcode. This is a Santa Maria First Pressing as indicated by the Matrix / Runout Vinyl markings which read: Matrix / Runout (Side A Runout, Etched; “KENDUN” Stamped): M-9065-A-1A SX KENDUN-A B 1SMatrix / Runout (Side B Runout, Etched; “KENDUN” Stamped): M-90565-B-1B KENDUN-B D 2 1S X CONDITION The Sleeve is in nice shape. There is some slight shelf wear, corner softening / wear and a promo sawcut in the upper right. Super solid with no splits, stains, tears, writing, etc. and would rate VG+ overall. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition looking lightly played. If you look closely you can spot a few light scuffs and faint hairlines, no actual scratches i.e. something felt with a fingernail. At least a strong VG+ visually and plays pretty much perfectly Near Mint all through. The labels show a couple faint spindle trails but are otherwise NM. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words: Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them.
