Instead I purchased this Flintar 3-in-1 H13 filter. I still had my original filter to compare with. When I pulled it out I noticed the first layer screen was full of dust and dog hair. A good sign its doing its job! But a bad sign that I should have replaced it earlier! Yes , my change filter light has been on for... years... probably... Anyway, on the OEM filter there is also a foam sealing ring around the outside diameter. This helps seat it in the purifier and creating a seal preventing and reducing any particulates that might try to get past the filter and recirculate back into the room. I then opened my Flintar box and pulled it out. I first noticed nice amount of carbon on the inner filter ply. You can actually see and hear the pieces moving around as you shake it. It was nice to know they were there and not just a marketing ploy. I then noticed the same sealing ring, though this one was a little thicker which made it a little tighter to get in and out of the purifier housing. Frankly this was welcome, as it didnt make it any harder to get the new filter in, but it made me feel like it was going to achieve a better seal. Last, i powered up the purifier and set it to High and noticed a greater volume of air was now coming out of the top, but it also was a little quieter too. It seems that old, clogged filter was really doing a number on the operating efficiency. All in all, I was very wary about these replacements, but now Im sold. I will continue buying these as long as they are available!
