Description: A fabulous antique Victorian 18k gold carved scrolling dog rose band ring, hallmarks for Abraham Meyer Blanckensee, 1901. This beautiful antique English late Victorian/Edwardian solid 18k yellow gold ring has a 6.8mm wide gently curving 'D' shape band which has been deeply and beautifully carved with lovely dog roses interspersed with leaves and scrolling stalks, the edges with half moon decorations and every area between painstakingly hand hammered to create a stunning light-catching floral feast for the eyes! The ring has full English hallmarks inside the band with maker's mark 'AMB' for Abraham Meyer Blanckensee who operated from Summer Hill Terrace, Birmingham, the crown for gold, '18', the Birmingham town anchor mark and date letter 'b' for 1901. The ring tests for 18k gold. The ring is approximately a size 7 1/2. The band is approximately 6.8mm wide. The ring rises about 1mm above the finger and weighs approximately 5.4 grams.
