HAND MADE FOLK ART CHARMING WOODEN DOVETAILED SMALL STEP STOOL This is a small sized Antique handmade, dovetailed construction, very sturdy step stool, 6 5/16” tall, circa 1800’s. The top piece is 7 5/8” x 4 1/8”. The legs are 7 3/4” apart on the long side and 6” apart on the short side. The legs are about 5 1/2“ long and taper slightly from the top to the bottom. The legs are dovetailed into the top 7/8” and flush with the top. The side braces are also dovetailed 3/4” into the side leg. These 8 dovetail fittings are finely cut to make the 8 ends fit snugly into their corresponding slots, creating a very strong and secure step stool. Weight is 1 lb. .2 ounces.
