Description: Seventy (70) total Sweet Cherry Tree Seeds Pits 2023 + 2024 Harvests Around 10 the years ago including (Bing, Van, Black Tartarian, Lambert, and Stella). I only keep the best, some of which are pictured. You will get a mixture from the different Red sweet cherry trees, which is good since they often require cross pollinization.. These seeds are from both the 2023 and 2024 harvets (you'll get two separate packages of 35 of each year). They are frozen after I ate them, or the whole fruit is frozen till eaten (then the seeds are refroze). I also have seeds from last year that have been frozen longer, which are in a different listing. This little orchard is small enough that it is treated and protected with the utmost care; being retired I can devote considerable time. Two of the pictures are of two germinating sweet cherry seeds that fell to the ground (I've transplanted them from under the tree). An interesting thing about the shell remains, it appeared the seed split in two halves. Someone wrote saying "The best way I've found to germinate cherry stones is to slightly crack (but don't remove) the husk with a pair of vise grips. Set the thumbscrew so the jaws don't collapse the pit, just put enough pressure on it to crack it. Orient the lateral seam (the flats) from jaw to jaw."Personally I found using a regular pliers as pictured worked for me. Wherein I wedged the seed just so that closing the pliers did not crush the seed. You should wear gloves so that you don't pinch your palm with as the pliers come down. Here is a similar technique https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8K4E3bt3XU (How To Germinate Cherry Seeds That Works every Time - Growing Cherry Trees From Seeds).A particularly helpful customer indicated "Using a vise slowly tighten till it pops the peach open I remove the pit and put it in peat moss in a zip lock bag poke holes in the bag keep it moist but not wet keep them in the bottom drawer of refrigerator check weekly for moisture roughly in 4 months they will start sprouting." The last two pictures are of this person's fabulous results. Yet another nice customer also recently informed me about something called "cold stratification" which you may find helpful https://www.americanmeadows.com/blog/2018/03/07/how-to-cold-stratify-seeds Shipping includes delivery confirmation and usually occurs in a day or two.
