Fiery Furnace Blacksmith - 5 PC Chisel Set

Description: This is my New 5PC Chisel Set These are my FIVE most commonly used chisels in the shop. All five are made from new, 5/8-inch round, 5160 spring steel, oil hardened and tempered, and sharpened with a 120 grit sanding belt. They are about 9-inches long. The round blade chisel is typically used for general split and chisel chasing work. It can be used for cold layout or hot-work. The flat blade chisel is usually used for getting in tight areas where the round blade chisel won't quite reach, and it also has some chasing applications. It is also a good choice for top cutting a bar in half. The 90-degree chisel is used for carrying a chiseled line out to the edge of the bar. The very corner of the 90 degree chisel can be used for animal noses and other decorative applications. The Half Round chisel can be used to reach the rounded corners of steel bars or it can be used in a decorative capacity to make rolling hills and other geographical features in steel. The small, semi-rounded chisel is great for getting in the smallest areas where your other chisels just won't quite reach, and can also be used for chasing tight curves or making short decorative lines. I like to use mine to open up small split crosses. I use these same chisels to make many Decorative designs on my Custom Hammers which can be viewed on my Ebay store!
