Description: These are the Fiery Furnace Stock 1.75 lb Blacksmith Rounding Hammers These hammers weigh about 1.75 pounds (actual head weight.) The cheeks are flat forged and lightly buffed to highlight texture, they have square trough lines, and the flat surface behind each face is lightly polished. The handle is top grade American hardwood, kiln dried, custom fit specifically for this hammer, torch burn finished. All of my hammer heads are forged from new 1045 steel, water-quenched, and oven-tempered, for a consistent and long-lasting tool. These hammers are forged by hand, by me, in my shop, in Kentucky, with the use of forges, presses, power hammers, and hand-forging. The cross-peen hammer features two working faces...the flat and the cross-peen face. The flat face can be used for general forging and for smoothing, and it can be tilted so that the edges of the face concentrate your hammer blow for efficiency. The peen side is used for aggressive direction spreading and texturing. My hammer faces are ground with a series of grinding belts, and then finished with medium scotch bright and then buffed. I have made and shipped well over 1900 hammers to blacksmiths and farriers around the globe. My hammers receive excellent feedback time after time again and are the favorite forging tool of many full time and hobbyist smiths alike. If you decide to purchase your next hammer from Fiery Furnace Forge, I am sure you will be completely thrilled with its quality, balance, and performance in your studio. ________________________________________________________________ Check out the rest of my store! https://www.ebay.com/str/fieryfurnaceforge SHIPPING NOTE: I currently have a 5-business day handling time on this product.
