Description: .**************SEE MY OTHER LISTINGS!!!************* OVERSEAS BUYERS CONTACT ME FOR ACTUAL SHIPPING CHARGES****Up for grabs is this TREMENDOUS pair of Jensen 8" Field Coil extended range speakersGet comfortable,. this is gonna' be another long one....These were fabricated at PMR in Ohio with all OEM/ NEW components..The electro-magnets were removed from a pair of 1946 A12 12" woofers, and completely disassembled, the pots double checked, painted and re-assembled. I have a picture of the electro magnets taken apart.....They are impressive,,,,, with pole plates and iron that is .625" thick~! (5/8").The field coils are 5,000 Ohms. The coils were taken apart and re-wrapped in a chrome material, so they look pretty cool too...Plus, an outer copper sheet strip will help contain stray magnetism for use near old style CRT monitors..Then- I took a pair of Jensen 8" frames, cleaned them down to bare metal, and shot them with a fresh coat of that electric blue paint...I also installed two sets of terminals onto the frames, so as you will have independent and easy hook up of your field coils and bucking coils. The voice coils are soldered to the original terminals. by doing this, it makes the speaker as universal as possible, and if you run straight DC or a really clean power supply, you can simply skip hooking up the bucking coil..... Basically, all coils have individual terminals, so you can run them how YOU see fit.... if you use straight DC or a really filtered supply, you can skip the bucking coil. There are no 'after market", replacement, India made crap, or import chyna junk, but AMERICAN made quality throughout.Still, the impressive thing to me is- the iron used in these units is OVER a HALF INCH THICK!.. That's some heavy metal. Compare your modern high power woofer pole plate thickness to these, and see if yours is .625" thick. That's a LOT of iron to make a lager surface area on the 'front pole plate" to interact with more flux lines across the coil windings, resulting in higher performance..Next, the voice coils...These are a much better modern voice coil, which have a light weight aluminum former, with the brown kraft paper wrap.... That provides superior detail and high end propagation through the former to the cone assembly.. oh- the winding height is .750"...PERFECT for cranking the music up because of that .625" thick pole plate. the coil will have control, even at max excursion.I did remove the old style spider assembly, and used a cupped profile/ high compliance/ excursion treated textile. Much easier and better quality that way.The litz wires that feed the voice coil from the terminals are COPPER LITZ WIRE!.. After doing some measurements and experiments with the standard woven silver/pot metal looking material and copper, ALL of my builds now use COPPER litz wire..The copper litz wires does not smudge and smear the details. It opens the spaces between the notes increases dynamics and over all fidelity. it's .050" diameter and woven copper.Next, the dust cap/ whizzer cone .Although the voice coil is a full 1.550" in diameter, I used a lighter weight/stronger whizzer made for a 1" coil/cap,.. By doing this , it keeps the moving mass lower, by not using a separate dust cap, plus the whizzer goes down to less than an inch at it's throat. These extend the response clear out to 8 Khz, and THEN into roll off...That brings us to the cones I selected to build this high quality pair with.. These 8" smooth body/no rib/ neck dipped cones are used in high end speakers and propagate tremendous detail, imaging, speed, and fidelity. Great sibilance with this cone/whizzer combination.....The surround is treated with ReZon-Ex.Remember that black, tack, sticky, never completely dry dampener used on all of those great old units from the 50s, 60s, and 70s??? yep THAT stuff.ReZon-Ex does a couple things..1.) Improved low end response2.) Lowers your Fs(Free Air resonance)3.) Prolongs surround life indefinitely.4.) Absorbs any remaining cone edge resonance issues5.) Removes " Ghost Notes", which improves fidelity6.) it looks cool!!!A high quality poly foam rubber OEM front mounting gasket was employed, so that you will have a nice air tight gap between the speaker and your baffle board. if you need REAR gaskets, just let me know.Final specs are as follows:Power capacity- 40 watts RMSImpedance of voice coils - 8 ohmsField coils- 5,000 ohmsBucking coils - less than .2 OhmsResponse- 25hz- 8.5KHzSPL- variable because of field voltage variances, but in the mid 90sThat'll give you guys a good idea of how they're built, what components are inside of them, and how they will sound. You guys know what this stuff is......I know I'm the one who built them, but these two 8" field coil speakers are truly greater than the sum of their parts. Now, you can enjoy wide range response and bass as well.*** Fully tested under diagnostics and operate without any rubbing, buzzing, smoking, rips, tears or adhesive rot, these are basically new speakers again- ONLY BETTER!\** Plus, I will include my 15 day " NO GAMBLE" return option from delivery date (((less customer damage))) if for ANY REASON you simply don't like what you just bought..So, if you want a tremendous pair of 8" PMR/ Jensen field coil speakers/ extended range woofers, then here ya' go!ANY questions or concerns, just ask.
