Manufactured in 1998. Serial indicates 1997, and the neck date is JAN 1998. An early version of the American Standard Stratocaster. - Alder body- Maple neck- Rosewood fingerboard- Two-point synchronized tremolo unit with block saddles- Equipped with logoed Rotomatic type tuners The nut is lower on the 6th to 1st strings, designed to stabilize the pitch when using the tremolo arm. All three pickups have been replaced with Custom Shop Texas Special pickups, balanced to a flat state. - Volume pot replaced with domestic mini pot- Tone pots also replaced with domestic pots- (250k pots remain unchanged) The pots are SONIC brand with an A curve. Strap pins have been changed to locking pins. There is a slight step along the skunk line. Overall, there are minor scratches, scuffs, dents, paint cracks, and faint sticker marks on the pickguard. It is generally in good condition, considering its age. The current operation is good. Although parts have been replaced on this instrument over 20 years ago, it has been properly adjusted. The Custom Shop pickups are well-balanced, making it a very playable guitar. Those who like a slightly gritty feel may appreciate this guitar. Neck condition is good, truss rod has room for adjustment in both directions, and frets are about 70% remaining.
