Overall, this barrel is in Very Good - Very Good Plus condition. There are light handling marks and scuffs, but no notable damage. There is some light superficial oxidation on the threads. It appears to have been modified so it could be used as a single action army revolver. There is light finish loss along the leading edges. The bore is semi-bright with stubborn fouling. It appears to have no pitting or erosion inside. The crown is intact. The blued exterior finish is mostly intact. The barrel is marked "COLTS PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. / PAT'D AUG 5, 1884 JUNE 5, 1900 JULY 4, 190?(last number too hard to read" and "NEW SERVICE .45 COLT". Some fitting may be necessary.
