The brooch is hand-carved of wood in the form of an eagle’s head with open beak and feathered effect edge. The brooch has a rollover style clasp, silver tone, that has a patent number visible. Please see photos for the specifics of the design. The brooch measures approximately 2 inches tall by about 2 3/8 inches wide. The brooch is in excellent vintage condition with the caveat that the clasp functions properly but spins a little bit more freely than I would like.
