This type of filter came in five grades with number one being the faintest/lightest diffusion and the number FIVE being the heaviest grade/density diffusion of this vintage set.Making a #3, a medium grade /density. Filter was made in Japan. BUT the box damage makes it a OPEN BOX filter. Filter comes with a Tiffen information insert with the plastic protective filter pouch.
