I do eliminate shows in which I feel the sound is too poor to be enjoyable for listening. Only in very rare circumstances, when the show is extremely hard to find will I include shows with poor sound. Of course, these are vintage shows, so some imperfections should be expected. *I try wherever possible to find the most unusual and hardest to find shows for each star and I update my sets regularly. *In the case of stars who appeared in a high volume of shows, I will offer multiple sets to keep costs low, but variety of shows high. Both Evelyn & Claude reprise their roles from the film of the same name, which also starred Robert Montgomery. A few small skips and the closing credits have been edited. 1 hour. CD #2 Lux Radio Theatre “The Third Man” (1951 – suspense) – Evelyn stars opposite Joseph Cotten in this classic about an American who goes to postwar Vienna to meet with his friend, only to find his friend has been killed…or has he? Cotten reprises his role from the film of the same name, which also starred Alida Valli. 1 hour. CD #3 Screen Director’s Playhouse “Mrs. Mike” (1950 – drama) – Evelyn stars opposite Joseph Cotten in this story of a girl who marries a mountie and has to deal with his kind of life. Evelyn reprises her role from the film of the same name, which also starred Dick Powell. 1 hour. CD #4 Lux Radio Theatre “The Jolson Story” (1948 – biography/drama) – Evelyn stars opposite Al Jolson in the story of the entertainer’s life. Evelyn reprises her role from the film of the same name, which also starred Larry Parks. 1 hour. CD #5 Lux Radio Theatre “Whistle Stop” (1946 – drama) – Evelyn stars opposite Alan Ladd in this story of a girl trying to help out her neer-do-well friend.
