Description: This is a rare March 19th, 2000 OPENING NIGHT playbill from the Broadway revival of the EUGENE O'NEILL play "A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN" at the Walter Kerr Theatre in New York City. (The production opened March 19th, 2000 and ran for 120 performances.) ..... The play starred CHERRY JONES, GABRIEL BYRNE and ROY DOTRICE (Tony Award for "Best Featured Actor in a Play") and featured TUCK MILLIGAN and PAUL HEWITT ..... Side Note: A Moon for the Misbegotten had its official World Premiere on February 20th, 1947 at the Hartman Theatre in Columbus, Ohio. The Theatre Guild production went on to play engagements in Pittsburgh, Detroit, and St. Louis. Dissatisfied with the casting of both James Dunn as "James Tyrone, Jr." and Mary Welch as "Josie Hogan", the Guild closed the production, intending to recast it for the following season. However, the play would not to be seen on Broadway during O'Neill's lifetime. The Original Broadway production opened May 2nd, 1957 at the Bijou Theatre in New York City and ran for 68 performances .....
