Below are the general characteristics of the album "Mexico Exporta" thanks for reading Objective This album not only pretends to be a specialized album, it can serve also as a complete catalog for this series with lists and tables that facilitate to the collector the task to identify every participating stamp (according to the 14 papers criteria), and its cross reference with catalogs like Celis (Mexico), Scott (USA) and Michel (Germany). Content The content is presented in a professional and elegant case, the information is friendly and detailed, allowing you to correctly classify each stamp. Because it’s a specialized album, each stamp spot contains a detailed description of it. Furthermore, you can chose between two specialization levels: intermediate and advanced. Also, you can customize it depending on your interest and budget: you can order it with or without mounts (Hawid, 40x33 mm., transparent) and with or without a binder (Lighthouse, original made). Two levels The album was designed in two formats or presentations, in relation to the specialization degree that is desired to collect of this serie, being these: Intermediate: (45 pages) the perfect level to enjoy the different plate sizes and color changes. You will enrich your collection with this level which describes a total of 325 stamps. The color differences presented in this format are clearly distinguishable with the use of the Michel color guide. Advanced: (70 pages) if you want some gray hair on your head and like to distinguish between different shades of the same color, this is your choice...color tone differences are considered, adding 250 stamps, getting a total of 575 stamps. The 14 papers The permanent serie "Mexico Exporta", has generated a special interest on philatelists with enthusiasm for investigation and specialization, due to the large amount of printings that exist, caused by two main reasons: first of all, the 18 years it was in use; and the second reason is because on the 18 years these stamps were active, Mexico's economy suffered from severe inflationary processes that made the postal rate to change on a repetitive basis. The "Mexico Exporta" serie started in 1975 and ended in 1993. During those eighteen years fourteen different types of papers were used and now there are 326 different stamps ( only 232 are recognized by TIEV ) , which Scott classifies on only four different types of paper and only recognizes 153 stamps. In this work, without the eagerness to create polemic, but simply trying to stay as close as possible to the meaning of the words, and forgetting the customs, we describe the following words: Serie: group of all stamps, no matter its printing date or type of paper, that have been printed in reference to the same theme or design. Issue: is a stamp or lot of stamps printed in the same date, which makes every serie to potentially have different issues. Paper: for every printing lot, of the same issue, from the same serie, different papers can be used, each is different in their physical characteristics that normally change between suppliers. The "Mexico Exporta" serie had several reprints of the same stamp, and there is not information available to help determine the different dates (day and month) of each issue, the only existing information is the range of dates (years) in which it was printed, which makes it complicated to classify them based on the issued date, for this reason we have found more appropriate to use a type of paper based classification instead. To differentiate the papers, we have taken into account elements that are present in used and new stamps, reason why we did not included the gum; even though any of these elements change between used and new it still allows comparison with other papers, like thickness. These elements are four: watermark, paper thickness, luminiscence (color and intensity) and satin. There is information from TIEV, the official and most informed resource, about the papers used in the whole serie; being these papers the ones considered in this work, even though there is some discrepancy in the philatelist world about if one of these 14 papers is a variation from another of the same 14 papers. According to Scott, 153 stamps exist including all their varieties and only 4 papers; Michel lists 170 inlcuding all their varieties and considers only 5 papers; TIEV lists 232 and considers 14 papers; Celis considers 366 stamps and 9 papers (of the varieties including only the color ones, without taking into account the varieties of listed defective printings), and this work lists (considering only color varieties, and without considering tone varieties nor faults or printing errors) a total of 326 stamps and considering the same 14 papers of TIEV.
