Description: Up for Sale: Three divisions of the rarely seen Epidendrum mirabile. The sales plants are shown in the images with the tape measure. Each has one mature growth with buds and a new growth between 5 and 9" tall. Two are growing in a 2.25” plastic pot in a fine bark mix and the other is in a 2.5” pot. The Species: A branching and trailing Epidendrum species from Costa Rica. It grows at elevations from 3300 to 6600 ft on moss covered trunks and branches of oaks. The mature growths are 10 to 15” tall and new growths are formed along the previous growth after it has bloomed The flowers come at the apex of a growth and are 2 and sometimes 3 per inflorescence, long-lasting and delightfully fragrant. Culture: I have grown this in a warm greenhouse with 65F minimum nights and 80 to 85F daytime highs and also in an intermediate greenhouse with 56F minimum nights and 80F maximum average days. It has done well for me in a fine bark mix with frequent, regular waterings and dilute fertilizer. My original plant has been growing in a shallow tray with about 2” of medium. I water that greenhouse about every 5 days and I water this plant 1 extra time between waterings. It is in moderately bright light, but less than Cattleya light. I have another plant in the intermediate house that is in a hanging pot. It is in almost Cattleya light and is watered every day. It is the last blooming image. I suspect this might also grow well in cool temperatures but haven't tried it yet. To see more orchids from mostlyspecies (Marni Turkel) click: More Orchids. Ask Before Bidding if you have any questions about this plant. Your plant will be packed very carefully, but I cannot guarantee that flowers or spikes will be intact on receipt. I want my customers to be happy, so if there is a problem contact me immediately, I will do my very best to see that it is corrected. Shipping & Handling Charge: It is the buyer’s responsibility to check the weather in the delivery area and let me know if special precautions are necessary. Packing and shipping for the first plant or flask is US $13.95; additional plants or flasks in the same shipment are only $1.50 each. I usually ship on Monday/Tuesday or Saturday after receipt of payment. The plants need to be dry to ship safely and that can take several days. I most often ship USPS, but can use FedEx 2nd Day Air if you prefer. There may be an extra charge for FedEx. Your item will be shipped with a tracking number so you can see its progress. Insurance for $50 is included in Priority Mail. If you want your item held, DO NOT pay the eBay invoice. Ebay has changed its policy and I am penalized if I don’t ship your purchase within 5 days of payment. You can pay me through PayPal and I can hold your shipment until you are ready. I can hold your item for a few days if you wish to combine shipment with other items; please let me know that you want to wait. Shipping plants to Hawaii requires that you have an import permit and pay the Phytosanotary certificate/handling charges ($20). International shipping is not available. Weather: I live in a mild climate area, so I am able to ship most any time. Shipping with a heat pack is extra work for me and I won't recommend it unless I think you really need it. IF your daytime temperatures are below 40F a heat pack may or may not be advisable and we should discuss. If your daytime temperatures are below 32F I don't usually recommend shipping even with a heat pack. If your package will be sitting outside in a mailbox or on a porch after delivery that needs to be taken in to consideration. If you have concerns about the weather in your area, I am happy to work with you to be sure that the order arrives safely by having it held for pick up at your local post office, by timing of shipment and/or heat pack from my Ebay listings or by using USPS Express or FedEx Next Day or Second Day Air shipping for an adjusted price. It is the buyer’s responsibility to check the weather in the delivery area and let me know if special precautions are necessary. Heat Packs: You can purchase a 72 hour heat pack to include with your shipment from my Ebay listings. Payment: Expected within 3 days. If you want to delay shipping, please contact me to let me know. Sales Tax: Where it is required, applicable sales tax will be added to your invoice and collected by eBay. [10/15/22] _gsrx_vers_1680 (GS 9.8.3 (1680))
