Elsie Dinsmore A Life of Faith Mission City Press 18 inch Doll in Original Box

Description: This doll is an original Elsie Dinsmore product from "A Life of Faith" dolls manufactured by Mission City Press, created after individuals portrayed in a series of Christian fiction by Martha Finley. The artist was Sandra Bilotto, with clothing design by Robin Woods. Made from all vinyl, Elsie has fixed inset acrylic eyes. This doll has lashes (not painted, which means she was produced after 1998) and a Kanekalon wig. This doll is not signed (usually the signer does so on the neck), nor does she come with any accessories. That said, these dolls can exchange clothes with American Girl dolls. This is a well-made doll, and the focus is definitely on Christian behavior -- Elsie's hands are created so she can clasp them in prayer. Elsie Dinsmore was one of two original dolls created by Breezy Point Treasures. The company sold to Mission City Press in 2003. This particular Elsie doll probably comes shortly after that business transaction, because Mission City Press created the doll with fake lashes (not painted) and because the previous owner purchased it about that time for a new granddaughter. Note the clothing is removable -- beautifully crafted with tiny snaps, the dress, socks, pinafore, trousers, and ribbons are all in excellent shape (although a little wrinkled from storage). The box is in fine shape, with the original straps and tissue paper. Age level is above three years because of possible small parts that could choke (not sure about the parts unless a child dismantles the clothing, and that's definitely a possibility!). Always stored in non-smoking environments.
