Description: wall sconces by Ets. J.Gauthier A nice pair of 1925-1930 French art deco wall lights in nickel plated solid brass or bronze holding two beautiful slip shades in clear frosted molded-pressed glass. This model slip shade is never signed. Glass panels with the same decoration exist with the EJG signature. The wall sconces are 33,9 cm high (13,35") 17,5 cm wide (6,89") and 19,2 cm (7,56") deep. They are in very good condition. The 90 years old shades have some small chips here and there, consistent with age and they do not distract. I have re-nickeled and patinated the mounts. The fixtures come rewired. For the States Canada or Japan I placed American candelabra base sockets. For European countries I will place E14 ones.Free worldwide shipping. The sconces will be shipped with full insurance by priority mail.***Jean Gauthier had his first workshop at 12-14 rue Jean Robert in Paris and later expended with factories in the town of Ezanville. In the early days just after the first world war Gauthier made cameo shades that were sometimes signed Gauthier. The plants in Ezanville were opened for the production of art deco glassware in moulded-pressed glass. Many art deco models are unsigned. Some are signed EJG for Etablissements Jean Gauthier. Others are signed J.Robert pseudonym for J.Gauthier based on the street name of the first workshop. In the 30s Gauthier started a line of shades done in opalescent semi-crystal, mainly cups. Some models are unsigned. Others are signed EZAN France, signature for Gauthier based on the city of the second plant. Check out over 400 other French art deco lamps in my shop.86410460A19
