Description: This was a piece purchased from MMA catalog back in the mid-70's.In excellent condition.I have several of the items the MMA was offering back when the King Tut Exhibit was making the rounds. They are a reproduction of the method used by the ancient stone carvers of how to depict the depth of the subject being carved. Thus, the edge has the original level of the stone surface that was to be carved.
